CoverGirl withdraws Taylor Swift Ad for being too enhanced

The National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus ruled that a CoverGirl ad featuring Taylor Swift was misleading because they digitally enhanced her lashes in post production. CoverGirl had since withdrawn the ad, but did not apologize. Although this is a step in the right direction, the ad was only objectionable because it was for mascara and thus the image should have been a realistic portrayal of that product…however, we all know that ads are selling a lot more than just a product….a lifestyle, a brand, status, beauty standards young girls should aspire to….etc. So shouldn’t we be looking at everything an ad is saying….ie all the other parts of Taylor Shift that have been enhanced and are misleading?
